Bench Spray Booth: A spray booth that features three walls to allow air to flow in freely from the open fourth wall and exhaust out the back. It is smaller and usually used for batch-type or conveyorized production applications.

Conveyorized Oven: Gas-fired oven designed for uniform, automated baking of continuously-flowing products.

Crossdraft Air Flow: Air enters through filtered doors, travels through the booth, and then is exhausted through filters located in the back.

Electrostatic Coat: To paint with charged particles of either powder or atomized liquid. Because the particles are charged, they stick to the item and require little cleanup.

Enclosed Spray Booth: A spray booth that features four walls with a filtered entrance door to allow air to flow through and exhaust out the back.

Gas-Fired Oven: Oven powered by gas. Most commonly used oven when curing and/or baking.

Halogen Oven: Oven powered by halogen bulbs with infrared energy that can reach extremely high temperatures in seconds.

K Coatings: Paints that relate to hardeners needed to cure them. 1K coatings do not require hardeners to dry while 2K coatings do require hardeners to dry.

Lab Oven: Electric or gas-fired oven designed for laboratory use; uses microprocessor technology for extreme accuracy and procision.

Modified Downdraft Air Flow: Air enters through filters on top of spray booth, travels around the booth, and is then exhausted through filters located along the side.

NESHAP: National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants.

Open-Front Spray Booth: A spray booth that features three walls to allow air to flow in freely from the open fourth wall and exhaust out the back.

Powder Coat: To paint with a dry, free-flowing powder that is typically applied electrostatically.

Pressure Tank: A large pressurized container that holds paint and can be adjusted so that the paint won’t begin to harden.

Reciprocator: Automated piece of machinery that achieves uniform spraying by moving in various speeds and directions.

Sandblast: To blast air or steam carrying sand to etch glass or clean surfaces like stone or metal.

Side Downdraft Air Flow: Air enters through filters on sides of spray booth, travels around the booth, and is then exhausted through filters located on the floor.

Spray Booth: A ventilated container that ranges in size and style used to accommodate a paint spraying operation. It is designed to exhaust spray vapors and residue.
